What a relief!! This ep was kickin'! Okee, okee, I'll warn you ahead of time that once again we only had one dose of Angel (Grrr!! This BETTER be good...*grin* - Robyn) but the acting and writing in this episode made up for the lack of Angel-age (who knew it possible?)

First of all, as you already know, Buffy is back in Sunnydale. Joyce is a little....overly reluctant to have Buffy leave the house to fulfill her usual slaying duties, but she accepts it nonetheless (or as much as a mother can accept something so, hmm, what's the word I'm looking for...."freaky?" Yeah, that's the one!)

While scanning the premises for vamps, Buffy encounters Xander, who along with Cordy, Willow, and Oz are pretty taken aback by her sudden cameo appearance. (That is after they work together to kick some ghoulish gleudius maximus.)

After their brief reunion, the gang immediately retreats to Giles' domain. Naturally, he is overjoyed at the sight of Buffy - however, he seems to pick up on the awkwardness of their behavior towards each other. It's as though the Slayerettes are keeping something back from the chosen one... *NOTE: It is stated that Buffy's charges have been dropped*

Back at home, Joyce flaunts an imported mask she just received; she considers it art work - Buffy considers it overly yuk-some. Now, like I mentioned before, the one liners in this ep are INCREDIBLE - never have I laughed so hard at an episode of BTVS. Finally we get to see Giles with a full-fledged sense of humour!

To tie up all the loose ends, this mask of Joyce's attracts the deceased and brings them back to life, or, *ahem* lack there of. Willow and co decide to throw Buffy a big bash to celebrate her return, but things take a turn for the worse. First of all, Buffy catches on to the odd behavior being displayed by her bosom buds and approaches Willow. Finally the cat is let out of the bag and everyone empties the tear ducts. This scene serves as an oppurtunity for everyone to let out the pain which has been bottled up for so long. Xander and Buffy hash things out too. *NOTE: Buffy is still completely unaware of Xander's betrayal* (Hahaha...me thinks there will be major "meow-age", as Kendra put it in an e-mail to me, when Buffy learns about it...*narrows eyes at Xander* He'll deserve it, too... - Robyn)

So, Buffy battles the bad guys and ends the epidemic of zombies (I am majorly skipping over details here, I'm just basically giving you the jist of things) and she and Willow patch things up after an awkward moment where Buffy attempts to run away from home once again (but fails...of course!)

Now, the scene with Angel is, naturally, a dream sequence. Buffy sees herself outside of Sunnydale high (which Principal Snyder is REFUSING to admit her back into). It's daylight and Angel comes up to her from behind and tells her "They" are waiting for her. She tells him that she is afraid, and he comments, "You should be." (How's that for moral support!)

******

In my opinion it was worthy of 2 verrrry large thumbs wayyyyy up! The best scenes were the ones with Giles in them - his acting is incredible! We finally get to see him use physical force on Snyder (in an attempt to convince him to admit Buffy back into Sunnydale High). I know it's a major kick in the gleudius that there was a major defiency in Angel-supply, but we can only hope that the up and coming ep's will have more of David and less of the second season "issues."

BIG THANKS AGAIN TO KENDRA, MY FELLOW VAMPIRE SLAYER, FOR THE SUMMARIES!! (remember, folks, "Kendra" is her REAL name!! Ain't she lucky?! *grin*)
