Well, Kendra is a busy bee these days, what with all her school functions and tests and stuff, so for the next couple of summaries, I'll be takin' over the job of...well...summarising...

I loved this ep!! Spike was absolutely hilarious as a poor drunk lost in love, and so much happened during this episode!! So, to begin with, we have the Scooby Gang talking about their S.A.T scores - Willow, of course, did well, but isn't happy with the score she got for the verbal section, while Cordy shows she has hidden talent with some impressive marks of her own. Xander, on the other hand, didn't do so well...but the surprise seems to come when Buffy reveals her own test score, which is by no means unimpressive!!

Anyhoo, to get this going here...Spike comes back to town, crashing thru the Sunnydale sign the way he did back in his first episode, "School Hard", only this time, he literally falls out of the car, totally drunk. We see plenty of Spike to begin with - lots of drunken walks, drunken singing...and we soon discover the source of his excessive not-sober-ness: Drusilla has left him. After venting some anger on Dru's dolls back at the old factory, Spike hits the streets and enters a store that sells ingredients for spells and curses etc.

Meanwhile, Xander, Willow, Cordy and Oz all agree to a double date at the local bowling alley. Willow, concerned that both her own and Xander's feelings for each other will be exposed, prepares to cast an anti-lust spell on them both...but is interrupted by Spike, who knocks Xander out and kidnaps both him and Willow. He drags them both to the basement at the factory, where Willow is told she must cast a love spell on Drusilla to make her love him again. Willow agrees, but requires more ingredients for the spell, so Spike locks the two of them in the basement, and leaves in to retrieve them...

Ooh! For Buffy-Angel fans...some awesome moments! Buffy discusses her plans for going to college with Angel at the mansion - when she asks him what he thinks she should do, he says that, "as a friend", she should go away to college. Not the answer she *really* wanted (I mean, come on! We all know she wanted him to say "No! don't go!" etc etc, right?! *grin*), Buffy leaves a saddened Angel at the mansion.

Oh, might I add here that Giles isn't around - he's gone to some retreat in the woods somewhere...anyway, when Xander and Willow don't turn up to the place where Cordy and Oz were to meet them, they quickly inform Buffy, who sends them to find Giles, while she heads to the library to get weapons. Her mom calls, during which Spike's voice is heard over the phone - Buffy races home to find a desperate, angry Angel standing helplessly at the door (he can't enter, remember?! Reversed the invitation...) while Spike stands with Joyce after having a chat about Dru over a hot drink. Buffy invites Angel into the house - they learn of the kidnapping, and set off with Spike to finish getting the supplies Willow requires...which is where Spike's stunningly truthful speech about friendship and love seems to finally snap everything currently going on between Angel and Buffy in half... "You'll never be friends...you'll be in love till it kills you both..." A wonderful little lecture that I think the two lovers probably needed!! (you just have to see the ep to get the full impression - priceless! hehee...)

ANYhoo...back at the factory, disaster strikes when Willow and Xander are caught kissing by Cordy and Oz, who have managed to find them on their own (due to Oz's ability to 'smell' Willow's fear from his car...LOL!!) Horrified, Cordy races back out the door, falls through the staircase, and lands on a railroad spike that is protruding from the floor below. She doesn't die, though - we later see her in hospital, where she tells Xander to stay away from her. Meanwhile, Buffy and co have been cornered by some of Spike's past minions who he deserted. After a tough battle concluding with flying bottles of Holy Water (clever thinking, Angel!), the vamps run away, and Spike snaps out of his sad little state, saying that he had it all wrong, and that he was going to go and find Dru and "torture her until she loves me again!"

The last scene between Buffy and Angel had to be one of the most heart-wrenching ones I've seen so far!!! I couldn't believe it!!! -- Buffy goes to see Angel at the mansion... basically, Buffy tells Angel that she is not ever coming back to see him, unless he can say he does not love her. Of course, Angel can't admit such a thing, so Buffy simply turns and leaves, leaving a very sad Angel with his thoughts.

All in all, I thought it was one of the best eps this season - in past eps, the plot seemed to have gotten lost somewhere amongst all the other stuff happening (like in "Revelations" - the Largos thing got sort of buried under the whole Angel-is-alive thing...) but this one was AWESOME! =) Angel-Buffy interaction was top notch (despite the lack of kissage! *grin*) and Spike was absolutely brilliant, as always!!! I give it a positive two thumbs way up!! =)
