If you've heard any rumours about upcoming episodes - and I mean ANY rumours, no matter HOW absurdly stupid they seem to be (I think "Buffy dies at the end of season three" takes the biscuit for that...), please LET ME KNOW!!!
And just remember: not everything on this page has been confirmed, so no need to panic yet!!
Well, it seems the rumour about Buffy being power-drained and forced to fight without her powers is true! - From a WB Press Release: 'Helpless - 19th January 1999' - "For her upcoming 18th Birthday, Buffy eschews her friends' offer of a big party, hoping to celebrate with quiet reflection and a traditional trip to the ice show with her father. But unbeknownst to Buffy, preparations are being made for a life-threatening rite of passage that drains the Slayer of her powers and then entraps her with a powerful vampire foe that she must defeat in a defenseless state in order to pass the test." - Ooohhhh!!! Should be interesting, if the Xander/Angel/Buffy schtick happens in the same ep...
Thanks to a fellow B&A fan for this info: David Boreanaz (Angel) will be on the show for the WHOLE season!! - according to an interview with Joss Whedon, his comment on Angel leaving was: "The end of the senior year is a tough time for everyone. It just fits." So, looks like the lovely Angel will be around till the end of their senior year (and hence the end of the season!!) - my thoughts on that = YAY!!!!!!!!!!! *grin*
The 11th, 12th and 13th episodes are titled "Gingerbread", "Helpless" and "The Zeppo" respectively.
In "Helpless" -- Xander and Buffy are supposedly trapped in an underground bunker after Lyle Gorch ("Bad Eggs" and "Homecoming") and his cronies drive them there. One of his minions tries to shoot Buffy but Xander knocks her out of the way and takes the bullet for her. Gorch decides the best way he can get revenge for his brother's and his wife's death is by leaving them there to die. During this time, Xander becomes delirious and his conscience becomes heavy. He believes he will die, so he wants to clear his head. Xander tells Buffy everything, including the lie in "Becoming 2" (remember the "Kick his ass" schtick instead of telling Buffy about the curse being tried again...), his true feelings for her, and why he hates Angel so much. Buffy gets mad at him but not for long, because of what he did for her. Xander then asks Buffy why she loves Angel and what it felt like to "kill" him. They start to talk but Angel comes to the rescue - although the rescue is hindered because it is still daylight out so they are confined to the underground bunker till nightfall. In a surprising twist Xander tells Angel everything and just as the two start to forgive each other Xander's heart stops (guess his wound is pretty serious) and Buffy and Angel must perform CPR to save his life. After they succeed Angel and Xander have newfound respect for each other. (Thanks to the "David's Angels Journal" for this wonderful possibility to "Amends"! =))
According to a Buffy fan that emailed me, Buffy and Xander will finally get together at some stage this season. (My opinion - pretty much impossible. If B & X got together, that would mean that Xander would've been with all the main females of BtVS!! It would also destroy all the fun of having Xander go on about how he loves Buffy etc etc...kinda like taking the Angel-Buffy factor out of the show!)
According to another Buffy fan that emailed me, Xander's butt will be exposed in an ep this season!!! Hehehe...
There are rumours flying around that "Angel", David Boreanaz's new show screening in the Fall of next year, will only be a one year thing. Apparently, it's just to fill a gaping space in the WB's Fall TV schedule, and Angel will return to the set of BtVS in 2000. (My opinion - not likely, but I guess it's possible. But then, if the show takes off...)
Cordelia gets turned into a vampire somewhere along the line in season three, hence the reason she leaves Sunnydale to go to LA with Angel. (My opinion - very unlikely. After all, Cordy is said to be Angel's "gal Friday". What's the point in having a helper that can't do stuff during the day?!)
I find this one intriguing and somewhat unbelievable as well, but hey, it's what all us B&A fans dream of...when Angel returns from LA after his little one year schtick there, him and Buffy share another passionate night together - only this time, Angel doesn't become Angelus, because the curse Willow performed in "Becoming" was done slightly wrong/differently to the original curse!! My thoughts? How *convenient*!! hehehe...
Another rumour starting up in circulation: Faith, the new Slayer, will not be around for much longer! Either she gets killed, or she moves to another city. My guess - she moves. Another dead Slayer, after Kendra, would be inflicting deja-vu-age on the story lines...but then, this is Joss we're counting on here...ANY thing is possible...*gulp*
Buffy and Angel eventually get hot and heavy again. (I, for one, am saying YAY to this one!!)
Amy, the girl who appeared in "The Witch" and "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered" will return in season three.
A new vampire comes to Sunnydale - a vampire stronger than the Master, that is capable of making people spontaneously combust!! Hehehe...
Angel's father appears in an episode (remember how Angel killed his family?!) - possibly in "Amends" (the Buffy Christmas Special)
Kelly Brendon, Nicholas Brendon's (Xander) twin brother will guest star as a vampire in an episode.
SOMEwhere along the line, Angel proposes marriage to Buffy...
Angel leaves "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" about half way through the next season, and David gets own show, called "Angel", which premieres in the Fall of 1999. Angel moves to the other Hellmouth, Los Angeles, to fight evil forces there, and to stay away from Buffy. (Is anyone else as annoyed about this idea as me?! GRR! He CAN'T leave! *sniff*)
Cordelia leaves the show as well at the end of season three, and goes and joins "Angel" as Angel's 'gal Friday' (ie. side kick type thing). Which leaves the questions: what happens to Cordy and Xander? And WHY does she move?? (NOTE: Charisma leaving the show is not yet confirmed, due to reasons including the fact that apparently, Charisma doesn't WANT to leave "Buffy")
Spike and Drusilla will feature as a big part of David Boreanaz's new show, "Angel" - one of the main focuses will be on Angel and Dru's relationship, as it is, and as it used to be. Could lead to some more jealousy on Spike's side...
Giles will die in season three. (Me thinks that is unlikely, but ya never know, I guess...)
Principal Snyder becomes a member of the undead!! (this is definite - Armin Shimmerman (the guy that plays him) confirmed it himself!)
Whistler, the enigmatic demon sent to balance Good and Evil will take Angel's place as the 'you're in grave danger' guy. I hope that's as far as it goes...
A relationship will develop between Giles and Buffy's mom, Joyce.
Even though David and Charisma (maybe) disappear for Angel's new show, there will be cross-overs between the shows, with BtVS cast members guest starring in "Angel", and vice versa, with storylines inter-twining too. From what I've heard, the "Angel" set will be right next to the "Buffy" set, so cross overs are easy!
For those of you that are still happily in the dark about David Boreanaz's relationship status: he's married! Of course, that doesn't stop you from dreaming...(well, it doesn't stop ME from dreaming, anyway...). Congrats to David and Ingrid on over one year of marriage!
